Beginners Farming Guide for Oldschool Runescape

Before starting with farming at OSRS, you will have to complete all the given quests along with additional quests to earn both experience points and also to unlock the necessary tools to farm at different levels. To start with-

  • After the ‘Recipe for Disaster’ subquest, you earn 1000 experience points.
  • After ‘Fairytale I – Growing Pains’, you earn 3500 experience points, after completion of which you can start farming.
  • At your level 17 of farming, you should parallel be completing the Forgettable Tale quest to earn 5000 experience points.
  • At your level 17 of farming, you should parallel be completing the Forgettable Tale quest to earn 5000 experience points.
  • In a similar fashion to every level of farming, you will have to keep clearing quests to fulfill farming requirements.

Level Wise Farming Guide OSRS-

  • Fairy Tale (Before farming starts)
    To unlock the farming phase you will first have to complete the fairy tale phase which provides you enough experience points to level up to level 17. Level 17 is when you can start farming. Beginner tip- start with having lighter work gear as farming is a bit of a task.
  • Oak Tree Farming (Starting from level 17)
    Oak plantation starts at level 17 and lasts up till level 30. All you will need is a rake to pull out weeds, a spade to dig holes, and Oak saplings to plant. You start by planting 6 Oak trees. Assign a gardener and pay him with Tomato baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Apple Tree Farming (Starting from level 27)
    Apple plantation starts at level 27 and lasts up till level 33. This is the first fruit plantation you would encounter. Fruit trees are useful for increasing experience points. After planting the Apple trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 9 Sweet Corn, to look after the trees.
  • Willow Tree Farming (Starting from level 30)
    Willow plantation starts at level 30 and lasts up till level 45. At level 30 Oak plantation ends, so you replace Oak trees with Willow trees. After planting the Willow trees, assign a gardener and pay him with Apple baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Banana Tree Farming (Starting from level 33)
    Banana plantation starts at level 33 and lasts up till level 39. After planting the Banana trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 4 Apple baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Teak Tree Farming (Starting from level 35)
    Teak plantation starts at level 35 and lasts up till level 55. After planting the Teak trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 15 Limpwurt roots, to look after the trees.
  • Orange Tree Farming (Starting from level 39)
    Orange plantation starts at level 39 and lasts up till level 42. After planting the Orange trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 3 Strawberry baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Curry Tree Farming (Starting from level 42)
    Curry plantation starts at level 42 and lasts up till level 51. After planting the Curry trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 3 Strawberry baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Maple Tree Farming (Starting from level 45)
    Mapel plantation starts at level 45 and lasts up to level 60. At level 45 Willow plantation ends, so you replace willow trees with Maple trees. After planting the Maple trees, assign a gardener and pay him with Orange baskets, to look after the trees.
  • Pineapple Tree Farming (Starting from level 51)
    Pineapple plantation starts at level 51 and lasts up till level 57. At level 51 Curry plantation ends, so you replace Curry trees with Pineapple trees. After planting the Pineapple trees, assign a gardener and pay him with ten Watermelons, to look after the trees.
  • Mahogany Tree Farming (Starting from level 55)
    Mahogany plantation starts at level 55 and lasts up till level 99. At level 55 Teak plantation ends, so you replace teak trees with Mahogany trees. After planting the Mahogany trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 15 Limpwurt roots, to look after the trees.
  • Papaya Tree Farming (Starting from level 57)
    Papaya plantation starts at level 57 and lasts up till level 68. At level 57 Pineapple plantation ends, so you replace Pineapple trees with Papaya trees. After planting the Papaya trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 10 Pineapples, to look after the trees.
  • Yew Tree Farming (Starting from level 60)
    Yew plantation starts at level 60 and lasts up till level 75. After planting the Yew trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 10 Cactus spines, to look after the trees.
  • Palm Tree Farming (Starting from level 68)
    Palm plantation starts at level 68 and lasts up to level 99. At level 68 Papaya plantation ends, so you replace Papaya trees with Palm trees. After planting the Palm trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 15 Papayas, to look after the trees.
  • Calquat Tree Farming (Starting from level 72)
    You will have to plant Calquat trees in a new location found at Tai Bwo Wannai. Calquat plantation starts at level 72 and lasts up till level 99. After planting the Calquat trees, assign a gardener and pay him with 8 Poison Ivy Berries, to look after the trees.
  • Magic Tree Farming (Starting from level 75)
    Yew plantation starts at level 75 and lasts up till level 99. After planting the Magic tree, assign a gardener and pay him with 25 Coconuts, to look after the trees.
  • Spirit Tree Farming (Starting from level 83)
    The final plantation is the Spirit tree. To achieve the seeds of the Spirit tree, you will have to go through a series of adventures at the bird’s nest. You can grow a total of 3 Spirit trees- one at level 83, the other at level 91, and the final at level 99. After planting the Spirit tree, assign a gardener and pay him with 5 monkey nuts, 1 monkey bar, and 1 ground tooth, to look after the trees.
