Two twins, Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead did everything together. You could say they were inseparable. What was a beautiful bond between sisters slowly turning into a tragedy as they colluded together to kill their mother? This is their story.

Who are Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead?

Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiya Whitehead were just mere teenagers when they suddenly and sadly murdered their mother Nikki Whitehead. It is a story of murder but the real tragedy lies within the relationship the twins had with their mother.

Nikki Whitehead gave birth to Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah at the young age of 17 years old. Little is known about Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead’s father.

As Nikki Whitehead was only 17 years old when she gave birth to Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead, the twins spent most of their childhood living with their grandmother Della Frazier. Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead only moved in with Nikki Whitehead when they were 13 years old.

Although Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah whitehead were honor roll students at one point as well as being a part of the girl scouts, the girls had always had a strong vendetta against their mother.

From a young age, Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead were troubled children. Wreaking havoc wherever they lived, they instilled fear in their caretakers. According to their grandmother, they were extremely out of control to the point that the grandmother resorted to bolting her bedroom door out of fear that Jasmiya and Tasmiyah were going to steal from her.

Although Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah whitehead were honor roll students at one point as well as being a part of the girl scouts, the girls had always had a strong vendetta against their mother.

Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead’s relationship with Nikki Whitehead

Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead have always had a troubled relationship with their mother Nikki Whitehead. The onslaught of abuse began at a young age, causing Nikki to be fearful for her life.

Per a court report, Nikki Whitehead had strong opinions about her daughters Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead. Nikki Whitehead believed that the girls were to quote “sexually active, using marijuana and skipping school”. This resulted in a shift in attitude from Nikki causing Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead to resent their mother’s attitude.

As Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah grew older, their behavior towards their mother only got worse. On the 28th of June 2008, an altercation arose between Nikki Whitehead and the twins which resulted in the police coming to the house to check.

According to police officer Myra Scruggs, Nikki Whitehead seemed to be living in fear of twins Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead judging from her facial expressions. Officer Myra left the house but stayed in the area just in case.

It was a good thing that the officer stayed in the area as she received a distress call only a few minutes later. Upon arriving at the house, officer Myra noticed that Nikki Whitehead was covered in scratches however there were no scratches on Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead which brought about the assumption that the twins inflicted pain on their mother.

The altercation in 2008 led to a court claiming that Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead are uncontrollable children, thus granting custody to their grandmother Della Frazier. The court also suggested that Nikki Whitehead attend family counseling sessions with her twin daughters to hopefully resolve issues of resentment and hostility that the twins may have against their mother.

Despite being in the custody of their grandmother and away from Nikki Whitehead, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah were still uncontrollable. On June 5th, 2010, the court decided to grant custody back to Nikki Whitehead because the twins ran away from home while under the custody of their grandmother.

It was this decision that gave light to the strained relationship that Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah had with their mother Nikki Whitehead. According to reports, it was Jasmiyah Whitehead who detested the decision made by the court for the girls to go back to living with their mother.

According to a report made by Rockdale News, Jasmiyah Whitehead was in hysterics and stated that “If I have to go live with you again, I’m going to kill you”. Referencing the fact that neither she nor her sister Tasmiyah was too keen to be living with their mother Nikki Whitehead again.

Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead’s murder of Nikki Whitehead: A timeline

On June 5th, 2010, the court granted custody to Nikki Whitehead of twin girls Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead. A week later, Nikki Whitehead was found dead. Immediately, all thoughts turned to Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah Whitehead with police suspecting the girls of being the murderers. Here’s a timeline of what went down on the day of the murder.

1. Nikki Whitehead was found dead on the 13th of January 2010 at her home where Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead also resided.
2. According to Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead, they came home to find their mother Nikki Whitehead dead.
3. Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead claimed that their mother Nikki Whitehead was brutally attacked and found her body in the bathtub.
4. On the day of the mother, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead claimed that they were late to school, but had to go to school the day their mother Nikki Whitehead was murdered.
5. When called into question about their mother Nikki Whitehead’s death, both Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead entered the police station with gloves on their hands leading the question to further suspect the girls.
6. Police had asked to see Jasmiyah and Tasmiyahs hands, which had bite marks and scratches all over. This also led to the assumption that Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead had an altercation before their mother Nikki Whitehead’s death.
7. Concerning the scratches and bite marks, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah denied all claims that it was from an altercation they had with Nikki Whitehead. The twins said that they were from a fight they had earlier.
8. At the whitehead house where they found Nikki Whitehead’s body, the police were cleaning up evidence when they noticed Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead were all bloodied and in the washing machine.

This wasn’t an open-and-shut case, as Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead did not immediately confess to the murder of their mother Nikki Whitehead. It took four years before the girls were finally convicted, let’s take a look further at the revelation of the truth in this murder case.

Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead were separated and placed in the division of Family and Children Services where the police kept a close watch on both girls.

The truth about Nikki Whitehead’s murder by her daughters Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead

Although twin sisters Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead weren’t immediately charged with the murder of their mother Nikki Whitehead, the police had already suspected the girls of being perpetrators of the crime.

The truth about Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead about their mother’s mother Nikki Whitehead slowly came to light as police investigated the murder further. 

As it was an ongoing murder investigation, Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead were constantly called into questioning by the police and slowly the truth started to unravel about Nikki Whitehead’s murder.

Police discovered letters that Jasmiyah Whitehead wrote to her boyfriend which showcases the distress and resentment she held against her mother Nikki Whitehead. In one of the letters, Jasmiyah Whitehead wrote that she hated living with her mother and wished that her mother would die.

Originally, it was hard for the police to be able to get a confession from Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead because the stories that were told by both the girls were not matching up with each other. There were missing pieces in the stories, causing the police to wonder what are the facts of this case.

As Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead were separated after the murder of their Nikki Whitehead, this allowed the police to put more pressure on the girls to accost a confession from both girls or one girl.

As a result of this separation, a police surveillance tape showed that Jasmiyah Whitehead while in police custody confessed to having an altercation with her mother Nikki Whitehead the day Nikki was murdered.

Per the surveillance footage, Jasmiyah Whitehead claimed that her mother Nikki Whitehead had threatened her and her sister Tasmiyah with a pot and was hysterical. Jasmiyah Whitehead also admitted to picking up a knife and stabbing her mother with a knife.

Jasmiyah Whitehead also confessed to the police that she apologized to her mother Nikki Whitehead’s lifeless body while she and her sister Tasmiyah Whitehead were dragging her body to the tub. Furthermore, it is believed that the sisters suffocated the mother by choking her with a ribbon.

According to Tasmiyah Whitehead, Tasmiyah had wrangled the pot from Nikki Whitehead but Nikki had picked up a knife to defend herself. It was at this moment that Tasmiyah used the pot to hit Nikki Whitehead.

Additionally, Jasmiyah Whitehead had also confessed that Nikki Whitehead had bitten her on the chest and that she was unable to get her mother off. It was at this moment that Tasmiyah stabbed their mother Nikki Whitehead with a knife.

This is a case that took four years to solve, as the stories told by both Tasmiyah Whitehead and Jasmiyah Whitehead were inconsistent.

Upon further investigation, it is said that the altercation between Tasmiyah Whitehead, Jasmiyah Whitehead and Nikki Whitehead began on the morning of June 10th, 2010 before the twin girls had gone to school.

On the 10th of June 2010, the real truth of the story is that Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead had fought with their mother Nikki Whitehead because the girls were running late for school.

According to Rockdale County’s District Attorney Richard Read, Nikki Whitehead was yelling at the girls Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead saying “You’re late for school, you’re not going to do what you want to do, you have to live by my rules”. It is assumed that this attitude of Nikki Whitehead was the last blow for Jasmiyah Whitehead and Tasmiyah Whitehead.

Nikki Whitehead’s attitude toward her daughters Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah may have ultimately led to her tragic demise.

It was later revealed that Nikki Whitehead did not die on the spot from Jasmiyah Whitehead stabbing her to defend her sister Tasmiyah Whitehead.

From confessions told by both Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah, it is said that the twin girls carried their mother Nikki Whitehead to the bathtub where they later recalled that their mother was still alive.

Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah recalled that their mother Nikki Whitehead’s last words to them were that she hates them both and they would most likely be going to jail.

Jasmiyah and Tasmiyah were finally sentenced for the murder of Nikki Whitehead

After four months after the murder of Nikki Whitehead, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah were charged with felony murder and aggravated assault on May 21st, 2010. The twins had pleaded not guilty, thus causing the case to prolong even further.

Four years later, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah were offered a plea deal and this is when they finally buckled under the pressure and confessed the full story to the police.

As mentioned earlier, from police surveillance tapes, Jasmiyah Whitehead confessed that she and her sister Tasmiyah Whitehead brutally murdered their mother Nikki Whitehead.

The girls, Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah were charged with voluntary manslaughter and were finally sentenced to 30 years in prison in the year 2014.

The sad conclusion of this story is that had the girls Tasmiyah and Jasmiyah Whitehead reported issues of domestic problems to the police or sought help earlier, Nikki Whitehead may still be alive today.
